“At the deepest level, the creative process and the healing process arise from a single source.
When you are an artist, you are a healer; a wordless trust of the same mystery is the foundation of your work and its integrity.”
- Rachel Naomi Remen, MD
From the artist: “My work is deeply influenced by the divine feminine and cosmic intuition. Each piece is approached through daily ritual and meditation, paired with extensive research into the suppressed expression of the feminine. The intuitive and spiritual nature of my creative process allows my work to express the healing and growth innate in being an artist.”
Allyson attended the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va, where she studied Ceramics and Sculpture, graduating in 2010 with a B.A. in Studio Art. She has created large-scale installations and window displays for the international clothing brand Anthropologie and most recently works designing and creating custom, one-of-a-kind pieces of art for commercial and residential spaces. Her work is highly influenced by the cycles of her female body and are often a physical representation of nature vs. nurture: an organic result of intentionally combining specific materials and then walking away, giving the materials a chance to come alive and move however they wish.
